Silk Weavers' Garrets

Plan view of the silk weavers garrets.

The large windows with tiny panes can just be glimpsed from the street. Added in the late 17th century, they were designed to let in as much light as possible to keep the weavers at their work.

These attics might once have housed more than one large family. By the early 20th century they were occupied by lodgers. The last lodger was the mysterious and sad Mr Rodinsky.
